Arcanis: Wizards gave it the official title of "Commander." It started as a fun multiplayer variant and has since become popular enough that they create product to support it. Mar 13, 2018 2:21:27 GMT -5

Arcanis: Usually multiplayer, you can play 1v1 if you want. Multiplayer players start at 40 life. In 1v1 some people play at 30 instead. You choose a legendary creature to be your commander. Any colored mana symbols of activated abilities or in the casting cost... Mar 14, 2018 2:41:10 GMT -5

Arcanis: ...creates the color identity of the deck. The only cards that can be played in the deck are those that match any of the colors of the commanders identity or are colorless. Memnarch for instance would be blue, so you can play blue and/or colorless cards. Mar 14, 2018 2:43:30 GMT -5

Arcanis: Additionally, if a single commander deals 21 points of combat damage to a particular player, that player loses. Whenever your commander would leave play, you could choose to put it into the command zone instead. You have to pay 2 colorless more each time. Mar 15, 2018 3:09:24 GMT -5
