It's alive...for now...But I don't predict that to last much longer...WoTC's ideas seem to be getting more and more messed up...Flip? Wtf?

Yes, flip. It's the best way to do split creatures.
Besides, it's like ascension. I think it's a great idea. So foo-foo to you.

FLip is an atrocious idea, and it looks terrible. They are totally ruing the game with too many strange mechanics now. This better be a one block theme, or I'm going to be pissed.

Started slowly selling my cards on ebay for the past year. Getting rid of newer cards, saving the old ones from Beta, and up for a while.

Odd... I'm doing it the other way (getting rid of older cards, keeping the reprints with current rules text). And yes, five or six new mechanics per block is going to kill the game eventually. It's just... too much.

I'm saving mine until I'm absolutely sure I won't ever use them ever again ever. then I'll just save them longer. If I ever sell them, it'll be if I really, really need fast cash or if I'm old and they're all worth a fortune (well, a fortune compared to their current value.)

Ok, split cards isn't a new mechanic, it's just a new spin on it. It's creatures instead of instants or sorceries. IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND. Arcane is easy to understand because IT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING ON ITS OWN. It's used with triggers and such, which are a basic game concept. The only thing hard to understand is "Splice onto Arcane" which basically reads "pay this cost, reveal this card, add this ability to the Arcane spell." Bushido is so Forking simple a 7 year old could understand it. Vigilance has been keyworded. Wow. Defender has been keyworded as well, but isn't in Kamigawa. (Basically, it's the wall effect. The creature can't attack.) Any other mechanics I haven't seen yet?

Adding new mechanics and such keep the game interesting. If they didn't, then we could just sit arround with ability-less creatures in every set if you'd like...but i like the mechanics better myself And all the block-only mechanics have the rules text right there, printed on the card. There's no reason to get confused with that. And the abilities that actually stay in the game are old and simple, so i don't see what the deal is with that.

It's just... too much. It's not confusing, it's just disheartening.

never thought of it that way.... i guess WotC is going a little mechanic crazy, but eventually there will be cards like: Happy Goblin (3)(r) summon-goblin This has haste, and bushadio 8 when target opponents creatures vigilance is disempowered by death. if ~this~ would deal damage, add some cheese to the stack instead. 1/2 on that day, magic will be dead

Yeah Kiljo, if that's the kind of quality we can expect from you in every post, I definitely want to see a lot more of you around here from now on.

Yeah, it took me 3 days and I only had like, 2600 at the time (I was trying to type 2500 and hit the wrong key, but for all I know 2600 is more accurate, so I'm leaving it). I have 5000+ now, though, so I'm glad I don't have to enter my collection anymore.

Champions is a GREAT draft set. If any of you haven't ever tried drafting, try Champions, it's SO much fun and so easy! Read a few articles (I advise Scott Willis's on mtg.com and Nick Eisel's on starcitygames.com) and then go!
