Hey. I was wondering. Do you guys think George left antyhing out of the movies that should have been there? Or did he mess up in some other way? What are your complaints about the movies?
Here's my main complaint.
When you think about it, none of the star wars movies show a full blown crossfie between capital ships, nor do they involve very many tactical maneuvers on the large scale. The novels have plenty, but it would be cool to se a REAL capital ship battle, not just the Death Star shootin a couple to pieces and having them in the background the rest of the time.

Well I have a lot of things I'd add to the first three, but being an aspiring director and a huge SW fan its too long of a list to post.
One main thing I think he should have done before making the prequels however, is read the books. I doubt he has read many of the novels that he allowed to be written, and he is trodding all over facts that were established about the history of stormtroopers and boba fett, as well as the design of the death star. Its almost as if you have to decide which story to follow, the books, or the movies.

I agree with both of you, and I would also point out the most glaring prequel error to date -- the flying R2 incident.
But let's try not to start another canon debate. I've been there and done that, and it can only lead to flaming.

I thought that they did a better job with episode II than with I. It still is not up to the standards of IV, V, and VI, but it's moving forward anyway. One of the things that I found about episode II was what I call "excessive Yoda-ing" which can only be explained through example "around the survivors a perimeter create" and "to the forward command post take me" I know Yoda is supposed to talk bass-ackwards and all, it just sounded really strained and out of place, almost artificial. Quotes like that from Yoda in ep. II didn't carry the creativity and wisdom of ones like "when 900 years old you are, look this good you will not" from the Trilogy. I know it's nitpicking, it just bugged for some reason.

Ugh... Daniel Wallace (author of the essential guide to droids) would scream. Flying R2 units? Seems a tad too much like Q9-X2 (why wasn't he in the movies?)
What I would have liked to see most are the other parts of the battle of Naboo. You didn't see ANYTHING about the RSF during the main battle scene. Then, of course, there's Nym. Why wasn't he there? Hmm?
