Oh... My... Forking... God... /me drools Okay, Oblivion Elder Scrolls IV. The game has some of the best graphics, shorts wait times (almost none) largest world, and smoothest playing style that I've ever seen. Not to mention the plot and side quests are just amazing. I'm really not sure how much the game is worth (gotta love ftp servers) but if its 60 or under, GET IT. I'll just give one little example of all the random things you can do. At the beginning of the game, you are making your character. You can customize exactly how you look, with probably well over 200 different ways slide bars on how to make your face appear. For instance, you have probably 10 bars for the nose and its shape and 10 more for its color. Really, you can make a character look like anything you want. ForkING AMAZING!! Get the damn game.

I have seen alot of previews and reviews for this game on G4TV. It does look pretty good, but my computer sucks and i don't have an X-Box.

I wish i could tell you. My computer is currently composed of peices of junk a friend of mine had laying arround...a few years ago. Its useless trying to upgrade this thing. I could order parts offline to build a pretty good gaming PC...but i would have no idea how to peice them together into a working PC. Under the DirectX Diagnostic Tool it tells me the following. Processor: AMD Duron Memory: 224MB Ram... ...uhhh...224?? I'm going to round that up to 256, which is still aweful. Graphics Card: SiS 740 Rev As you can see its all very old...BUT!! I saw my mom looking at this. I would say that SHOULD be sufficient for playing WoW until i have a job and whatnot. The only problem is it comes with keyboard and mouse that i have no need for.

The nice thing about oblivion is that with compy specs under it (up to maybe 75% of where they should be) people have made mods that turn down the system demands of the game so others can play it.

DEVO!! Nice to see you around. You definitely need to post every once in awhile, we're starting to get quite active again! Is Fallout 3 really as addictive as Oblivion? I have some 100-115 hours on Oblivion and I could easily play it for another 50 hours without getting bored. I havn't even touched the thieves guild (My character is a very honorable (and clumsy) orc) and I'm still doing quests just to get into the mages guild. And who knows how many generic quests are waiting out there. It's crazy. Is Fallout 3 really like that too? I'm definitely interested if it is, but for whatever reason when I saw it previewed on some show on G4 it actually looked kind of boring for some reason, so I just wrote it off and kind of ignored it. At 60-70 dollars a game though, I want 100+ hours out of it. So maybe I need to get re-interested in it.

its a little more streamlined, but the gameplay is the same and there are main quests and side quests and such. It's really fun, and very addicting.
The thing with Oblivion that took over my life was the fact that I wanted to make all the kinds of characterrs possible. I probably have over 100 hours of gameplay too, but I have 4 different characters that I alternate between. I have a Redguard Fighter, a Breton Mage, a Bosmer Thief, and sort of a battlemage character.
Do the thieves guild, it's well worth it. You take a point of infamy, big whoop. As a member you can do all kinds of awesome stuff.
Also, if your character is a mage, do all the mage guild quests asap. Making spells is such a tremendous advantage. Also you get some really cool items and spells for completing the quests.

Is Fallout 3 as BIG as Oblivion? I read that it actually had an end to it, and after you 'finish' it the game actually ends. Makes it sound alot smaller, which is kind of lame. I guess I'd have to avoid the main quest then huh? I actually made themed characters from books. Took up a TON of space on my PS3 hard drive though. As for the thieves guild, aren't all the bonus' thieving related? I try to avoid infamy altogether because I'm using the Crusader's armor set, and you can't equip it when you've got any amount of infamy. And I havn't done too much with the mages guild because I'm an Orc custom class "Paladin" as I called it, with a heavy focus on healing and whatnot.

My sister got Fallout 3 for her birthday/Christmas or something (they're 4 days apart ) It IS addicting. I've got around 33-35 hours of game time and I only just barely touched the main quest until 30 hours into the game. They did an amazing job of really making you feel like you are surviving in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. I'm generally enthusiastic about post-apocalyptic settings to begin with, so the game is right up my alley. It just feels awesome when you're wandering around the wasteland and you find an abandoned military vehicle full of ammo. I once even stumbled upon a wrecked Nuka-Cola truck packed full of Nuka-Cola bottles. It's jut awesome how they can get you excited when you find little things like that. They definitely did a great job with the atmosphere. The RPG/Shooter aspect was done flawlessly as well. Amazing game. Only complaints are, how you are forced to end your game if you complete the main story (open-ended sandbox games like this should NEVER have an ending, see: Oblivion, Grand Theft Auto, etc.) There is also a major bug in Big Town where if you offer to teach them how to repair robots, the robots glitch out and don't appear in the junkyard, so all the people are "stuck" and won't talk to you until you teach them how to fix the robots, which you can't do. I'm stuck with this bug, so if there are any more quests in the area I have no way of doing them. Bethesda is TERRIBLE with their bugs. In my Game of the Year edition of Oblivion, if I become a vampire there is no cure, and I'm stuck with it forever. I mean, how the hell do you let a bug that big slip past you? And this big town bug is part of a QUEST! What the Fork are the game tester being paid for? They are big games, so there should be plenty of graphical glitches and things like that, but there is no excuse for quests to be so bugged they can crippled your game and force you to start over. Morrowind also glitches out every 15 minutes it seems like. I've grown accustomed to saving my game every time I enter a new room/talk to someone/travel/or anything else imaginable.

I've had Fallout 3 freeze up on me a few times, no biggie though. It seems to happen when I've been playing for a while, so ot's either head related or temp data related.
Fallout 3 is great. I just beat it (level 20). I'd tell you what my specializations are, but to be honest, if you play it right, by level 16 you can be really strong in everything. I finished with a 100 skill in lockpicking, repair, small, big, and energy weapons, a 90 in explosives, a 90 in medicine, and all the rest are more or less useless anyway. The only complaint I have is that you really have to start out as a small guns specialist. There is no ammo or good weapons for energy and you cant carry enough big stuff early. But if you get the comprehension perk you pretty much can specialize in it all if you find the skill books.

Yea, I'm already level 18 and I have plenty of skills that are pretty far up there. I don't use big guns or energy weapons much, both of mine are around 75-80, but small guns/repair/science/lockpicking/medicine/explosives are also all around 90 or so for me. Is it just me, or is Melee completely useless? I mean, your going to be destroyed by a group of raiders/mutants carrying guns, and alot of the quests have you shooting at people you can't reach with melee (like the main quest when you are leading Doctor Li and the scientists through the tunnels to the Brotherhood and you have to shoot down some Enclave who are on a platform you can't reach) I almost made a melee character just to mess around until I realized how weak it would be. I wouldn't mind punching some mirelurks face off though.
