* When something goes wrong with a PC (e.g. crash), you can fix it. When something goes wrong with a console (e.g. crash)...you can...uhm...RIGHT!
But PCs crash ALL THE TIME. My PS2 has NEVER crashed. Ever.
* You can constantly upgrade a PC to conform to the newest standards if you so desire, and don't need to buy a whole new system!
And this is a good thing? PC gamers have to buy a new graphics card ever 7 seconds. You buy a console and your set for years! The console games improve graphically as the games come out without needing to buy new equipment. The only time you need to buy new stuff is when a new console comes out, which is ever 6 years or so. PCs? You need new stuff every time a new game is released
* You say that those two points are negative because you have to shell out money? BAH! Better than buying a brand new system all the f'in time!
All the time? Its not often a new console comes out. And how much does all those graphic cards and memory sticks add up to? You spend 400 bucks and your set with consoles for several years. You spend 100 with a pc and you set for about 6 months. Then its time to buy more stuff.
More stuff:
PCs are prone to bugs and virus'. If your PC dies, your gaming system dies with it. And a new computer with all the stuff needed for gaming can easily cost 1000 dollars or more. Console systems? 200 for the ps2, 300-400 for the 360, 100 for the gamecube. And it won't crash.
I prefer console controllers over keyboard and mouse
Multiplayer Gaming:
The only way to play multiplayer games with a PC is online in a dark room by yourself. Technically you playign with another person from anywhere in the world, but you are still in a room by yourself. You can do that with Consoles too if you like, OR you and all your friends can take your controllers to someones house and play together in the same room, instead of miles apart.
I also think there is alot broader selection of games in consoles than there is for PC.
