You probably could've looked it up yourself...
Can be good in casual, but would probably end up sucking in a game that demands any sort of speed. The CIPT sucks, and you need at least 2 of them to make them any good, which you may or may not get. Well, chances are that, assuming you have no extra card draw, you'll get your 2nd one somewhere between turn 7 and 23, so...

If they make more Locus lands this might become useable.

I've seen post used in 2 different tourny quality decks. 1 was a U/W control the other was a R/G man land (w/dark steel) deck. It uses the urzas lands aswell and wins w/fireball or man lands.

I don't think they'll be printing any more locuses, simply because you could produce 32 mana with 4 lands.

I think they should. If they don't, I don't think Cloudpost's gonna see a whole lotta play...

Yea, it doesn't do too much without alot, and with alot of locus' it's too damn broken. Meh, they'll probably make another locus that say something along the lines of "whenver a locus is tapped, you take 1 damage" so it's not so broken...or...something...

That card would only be good if it came into play tapped but added 2 mana per tap.

You have to remember, there are cards around like Weathered Wayfarer and Sylvan Scrying, which let you search for any land. Add that to the Imagecrafter, which, I believe, can make creatures Loci(?) (I think) and it can be pretty bad....

Locus is a land type, not a creature type. So far as I know, there is no way to create a locus.
Yea, land search cards could make this more useful.

I play it in my UW Decree Control deck - works quite well, since I have my counters and control to buy me time formy decree o. Justice. Byt that time i got at least 2 out.

Cards that search for simply the word "land":
Weathered Wayfarer Sylvan Scrying Reap and Sow
If you're playing a GW build you could, conceivably, have all four Cloudposts out by turn 5 or 6...more than enough time to use them.
And as Omeguz noted, they provide HUGE amounts of mana for decks that stall for the big kill (ie DoJ, Fireball, etc..)
And I didn't know about the Imagecrafter trick, I saw it on a website somewhere and wasn't sure. Oh well.

Hmm... well if you had something like Living Lands out, along with a cludpost, you may be able to argue that locus is a creature type. Might not be correct, but I think it would be possible to convince people.

i saw a ridiculous play recently that involved Cloudposts. heres how it went.
Turn 1: 1st Cloudpost, Chrome Mox (Reap and Sow), BoP Turn 2: taps BoP and Mox, plays Sylvan Scrying, fetches and plays 2nd Cloudpost, plays Talisman. Turn 3: Tooth and Nail (not entwined), 2 Darksteel Collosuses and an empty hand. Turn 4: attack for the win.
ridiculous, no?

That there, my friends, is why I'm THIS CLOSE to building "12 Post." THIS. CLOSE.

Watching the PT Kobe replays....I notice something.
Both final's decks had maindeck Artifact hate. With 6 Ravager Affinity decks in T8 with them...
Funny, no?
