I'm curious, it's 2018, who still plays Magic? Did you ever quit, and are you interested in getting back into the game?
I played in paper up until about 2008 or so, and then I started playing exclusively online, at first through Magic Workstation and then on Magic Online. I played off-and-on for years and mostly casually, but around 2014 I got REALLY into the game again, as in playing every day as opposed to once or twice a week, and now creating MTG content on Youtube and I'm pretty invested in the daily goings-on in the community.
So, what about you guys? Still playing?

I play it on occasion, nowhere near as much as I would like to. Paper collection is seriously lacking, most of my cards are on MTGO.

I still have decks built and ready for play, but since moving to Illinois I haven't found anyone to play with.
Is this online stuff mobile-friendly? I'm on an iPad now.

I have one friend who's still into it, he ropes me into a game once every year or two. But I think it's been at least 8 years since I played with any consistency. All my cards are at my mom's house, except I think that friend has my rare binder. I'll have to get around to selling that stuff at some point.

However, there is a game in the works right now called "Magic Arena" which is built on an engine that many mobile TCGs use, and WOTC has stated they want the game to be playable on mobile, so perhaps in the future! Currently it's in closed beta, but I've been invited as a beta tester and I must say, it's really, REALLY good. I can't speak too much about it because I've signed a non-disclosure agreement, but there are videos on Youtube showcasing the game. I'll definitely be recording with it as soon as I'm legally allowed to.

I don't know whether to be upset that they stole my idea, or glad they at least made halfway decent cards out of it.

Did you have the dinosaurs in an epic battle against pirates, vampires, and merfolk? Because that's the current set... It sounds ridiculous, when I first read it before the set came out I rolled my eyes, but it actually has a South America/Aztec/Caribbean theme. The dinosaurs are being ridden by tribal native people, who are being invaded/eaten by vampiric conquistadors, the merfolk have an Aztec mythology feel and the pirates...well, they're just the pirates from the time. Here are some pics, because I'm assuming we aren't all on dial-up anymore... Also, yes, green merfolk and white vampires.

There was a vampire Planeswalker, but other than that I wasn't planning any vampires. Or for the plane to be inhabited by anything more evolved than raptors. White vampires I can deal with. White vampires in the sunlight I can't abide. What dumbass approved that illustration?

I haven't read the Ixalan story, but the vampires seem to be in reverse to traditional ones. They are actually on the island searching for "The Immortal Sun," and it's referenced in a card called "Blood Sun." Which, as it happens, is a reverse of Blood Moon. I don't know what it's all about in terms of story, but it's possible they can't survive at NIGHT. I have to go look through all the art to see if any of them are at night now.

Vampires have become a very common tribe that they incorporate as of late.
