I'm just thinking of some dumb things I thought about regarding Magic when I first started playing, or dumb situations that came about due to lack of knowledge about rules.
-Artifacts have summoning sickness.
-My friend once attacked me with all his creatures, then played Vitalize and attacked again.
-Snowcovered lands were there own basic land type. I sought them out so I could have my Wayfaring Giant be an 11/13 unmodified.
-You are only allowed to have one copy of any legend in your deck.
-If someone tried to ping me with a prodigal sorcerer, I could use something like Benalish Trapper to tap it in response.
-Sideboarding: When you draw a card, if it's not relevant to the deck you're playing against (ie drawing a COP: White when you're playing against a blue deck), you can remove it from the game and draw another card. Friend once totally abused this to fish for the card he needed to win the game, and when I told him that didn't seem fair, his response was "it's tournament legal".
-Speaking of tournaments, in order to be viable in a tournament, you have to have a deck that can consistently win in 3 turns or less.
-When building a deck, you should have one of each basic land type in there, just in case you need them.
-We should start making smaller decks. I think 120 cards is good (our one friend had a deck, probably around 300 cards, he had to split it into 3 or 4 pieces to shuffle)
-Interrupts can only be used in response to something, and are faster than instants. In all fairness, I think that second part used to be a rule.
-When you removed a card from someone's hand with Planeswalker's Mischief, you could use that card once each turn.
-Creatures with 0 power can't attack.
Anyone else care to share?
