This is a recent piece I wrote just last month. Well January 30. So close enough. It's about the World Trade Organization Riots in 1999, from November 30 to December 4 in Seattle, Washington, in the perspectives of the rioters. Anyway enough banter. Here it is.
Countdown to Chaos
"Rules: No weapons, no drugs no destruction of property. They don't share our cause, but we are strong.
Well, it's the irony, The topic paradoxes Of the corporate powers looming over. Expiration of freedoms, Not just for people Deriving their power from you. So it begins...
Bringing fire they come, obliterating rights in cold Seattle streets. Genius breaks confidence, crushing security as we're counting down to chaos.
Downtown attitudes, Attention to grief, Not just to people.
"Rules: No weapons, no drugs, no destruction of property. Our cause is lost, but we remain strong."
(Note: For a neat little giveaway, read down the left side of the 2nd stanza. It's all in caps. Everything in caps is a giveaway, including the 4th stanza. If you aren't familiar with the World Trade Organization Riots of 1999 in Seattle, this won't make as much sense.)
