news.yahoo.com/fc/us/death_penaltyWondered what your thoughts on this were? Although he was a gang member, and he murdered people, Stanley "Tookie" Williams later spoke out against violence while he was in jail. Should he be executed even though he is now trying to keep youth out of gangs? Should people who truly repented for their crimes and have started doing good things for their community still be executed for crimes of the past? I think not! What's your opinion on this?

I would rather see him waste away in prison than be killed. People who kill don't deserve the pleasure of a fast death. If it were up to me purposely killing another would get a person penalized with torture. But apparently thats "inhumane" -.-

But you can't deny the fact that torture would greatly decrease the crime rate. Homeless people purposely commit crimes to get into jail because its better than living on the streets. If a person knows they are going to be tortured, they aren't going to go out and kill someone.
Of course, then people are going to frame one another alot more often...THOSE are the Americans that you should be afraid of.

I don't know, Ape... if they're tortured, then put back out on the street, they'll be pissed off and inclined to commit more crime. I say torture them to death... in my Nationstates country, the preferred method of execution is the executioner seeing how many bones he can break before the subject literally dies from pain.

Nationstates!! Noo!!! I forgot, i'm guessing mines dead by now And yes, i was very serious with my Nation State. I wasn't answering things to make my contry a certain way, i was actually anwering them the way i would if i were a leader of a nation. And i don't think a person who was tortured would be inclined to commit a crime and risk getting tortured again. Not if the torture was done right anyways.

Yes, your Nationstates are both dead. But you can start a new one if you want -- we've taken over the Essential Magic region, supplanting their dictator and putting Elfie in his place as UN Delegate.

It's basically an MMORPG for people who like to type a lot (in other words, all the roleplaying occurs in forums). When you register an account, the site generates a nation for you to be the leader of, and an issue for you to vote on -- how you vote on this issue, and the following ones (you get a new one every weekday, but after a few months they start repeating) will affect what type of nation you become, and affect the stats (happiness or lack thereof of citizens, income tax rate, etc.) of the nation as well. Your population increases each time you log in, I believe... at least that's the way it seems to go with my nation.
If you join, and come to the EM region, then you'll find me, Bass, Elfie, Musashi and Minorei from PPU there, as well as a few EMers (I'm not sure who most of them are, though).

But my nation was so built up...i don't wanna start all over again. On-topicness: Of course we make George W. look lenient. We can make ANY U.S. president look lenient. They have to follow those silly human rights laws, which i dissagree with. But i suppose thats why i'm not president.

Well it has to hit something, but in cartoons it usually has a similar sound effect to an anvil dropping.
