On this thread I would like anyone who plays D2/D2 LoD to post their acc name and any char names that they want to. This way Conclavers can see who else plays and perhaps we could even get a clan going ro something. Work with me here.

I did a system re-install so I lost my characters, give me a couple of days and I'll build a few up so we can go slaying... I 'm on the West Coast so I use U.S. West, I 'm not sure if and how that will work...

I just started playind D2LOD. As of now I have a level 10 barbarian and a level 6 sorceress (who I don't like that much). My next one's probably going to be an assassin.

In v 1.10 there are only certain builds that are feasible to take all the way through hell dificulty. If you're just making characters to mess around with then almost any build will get you through most of Nightmare difficulty. But if your desire is to Pat/Mat your build, then I would suggest these builds:
Amazon with points into Multiple Shot, either Freezing Arrow or guided arrow, and the rest in passive/magic skills, especially Critical Strike/Valk
A sorceress with Freezing Orb maxed. You also need a secondary spell to deal with cold immune creatures. Either Nova or Meteor.
Assassin with maxed Phoenix Strike and as many points into its synergies as possible. This build is my favorite because it can deal 4 types of damage (physical/fire/ice/lightning). Mostly use charge #1 on PS (the meteor strike)
and I've heard of people that have gone a long way with summoning Necromancers in 1.10. However, if you intend to play online with other people don't use this one. The rest of the players will want to kill you because of the lag.
All the rest of the builds either don't do enough damage in hell difficulty due to the 50% Physical resistance of all creatures there (which makes the barb useless in hell), or the inability of characters to deal more than one type of damage (in hell every creature has at least one immunity, most have 2, so you need to have several types of strong attacks) of course, if you intend to take a party along with you every time you go out, you can make whatever you want because the party will be able to cover whatever deficiency your character has. But once you get to the higher levels, you won't ever level up if you do strictly party play.

This is entirely a myth. The necro lag thing has been going on forever, but it is untrue. Every char class has skills which cause lag. The necro is no worse than any other. I forget the specifics, but laggy spells for other classes I remember are: amazon/jab, druid/maul, barb/whirlwind...etc. The point is, necros summons do not actually cause any lag.
And as to the feasible chars, I have been studying char types in the new patch, doing some research in D2 forums, and talking to other players. While the pool of feasible char types has shrunk, its not quite as small as it would seem. Just experiment a little, and don't be afraid of other players telling you that your build won't work.
A few ammentments to devo's list. The zon: valk has actually, from what I've seen, become useless. It got weaker with expansion having equipped mercs, and now most summons and mercs are having trouble surviving hell. 1.10 only made it worse. Other skills to invest in for zons would be pierce and penetrate. Goes nice with guided, strafe, and multi-shot.
The zookeeper build for necro does have some merit, how much exactly I am currently testing myself. But if you want a very powerful dueling char, necros are now close to the top. Bone Spirit/Bone Prison necros are huge now, if a little cheap. Easy way out, but solid fighters.
Pally's are also stronger than ever. They take a while to level in the beginning, but once you hit 15 and can do arcane runs you're set. Along with necros, pallys are the other class that seems to have gotten a large boost in dueling with the patch.

The Valk is your meat-shield. Damage is unimportant; that's your job. She just needs to have a lot of life so they're distracted.

I like the barbarian a lot, but right now I'm at sort of a choke point, I can't get too much farther than where I've already gotten. As of now, I'm level 14 I think, and I'm on the mission where you have to find something in the monastary basement. I'm thinking of starting a new character. I like the barbarian, hate the sorceress. Any suggestions?

Since a lot of my stuff was stolen or lost on unplayed mules, I would say sure, but I just don't play anymore, or have any plans of playing in the future. If I knew more people that played, then perhaps, but the game just really gets boring.

Well, let's all organize a time to get a game going. I forget who suggested it, but someone said something about everyone making a game with level 1 characters, then everyone runs off and levels up, until after an hour or something, when we all duel...That sounds fun:-x
