This was inspired by the recent losses of territory on Nation States. It's going to be a large-scale tactical campaign with mobilization and deployment of forces, and a heavy emphasis on tactics/strategy and epic, "cast of thousands" style battles. The backstory: Ashlieey, still possessed by Aratar after The Seat Cover Wars, has invaded other territories of The Conclave using the armies of Spastic Chicken (reinforced by battle groups belonging to Aratar -- Intelligence is still trying to work out how exactly these were inserted into the Conclave). The fighting seems to be mostly focused in the North, with Zugema, -Zero-One-, and Pie-Like Desserts already fallen and Ragbralbur under siege but putting up a brilliant fight (reinforced by battle groups sent down from our northern allies at Static DMC). However, one of our Southeastern territories, Ignorant Frenchman, has fallen as well, meaning that (although no hostile action has been made against them yet) Olwe is also surrounded by the enemy and is considered to be under siege. Messengers have been sent to our extraregional allies (MTG Oasis, Zirconiad, etc.) as well as into the jungles of Olwe and to Molimo in the haunted Llanowar Forest to recruit more fighters from within the Conclave Region. The leaders from Zugema (Omeguz, who retreated south into The Capital), Ignorant Frenchman (Stalin, who led his remaining forces east to Olwe and was placed in command of Olwe's army and aerospace forces by Piñata), and -Zero One- (Redorblue01, who led what remained of the mechanized infantry south to reinforce Morbaruk's garrison) all survived, but Hematoma (Pie-Like Desserts) is missing in action and presumed dead (his territory took the heaviest losses in terms of building damage, so there are a lot of different piles of rubble he could have been buried under). The plan of action is either to: A)Take all remaining Conclave forces not under siege to the aid of Ragbralbur, leaving many important places undefended in the process but saving our UN delegate from becoming our Alamo, or 2)A three-pronged attack (Redorblue01's garrison from the West, the combined force of the South Conclave -- JacenSolo, Damithor, The Pantless Cult and The Duchy of Atriedes -- from the South, and Stalin and Piñata's battle groups from Olwe in the East) against the enemy occupation force at Ignorant Frenchman, retaking that territory while also forcing the enemy to divert resources away from the siege of Ragbralbur. After a success here, we can move up into the North Conclave from a more defensible position and harass enemy forces at our leisure. Although this second plan makes more sense, it also takes a lot more time and places Ragbralbur in danger of falling into enemy hands before proper aid can be given.

I pledge myself and my armies to divert from the Southern front to aid Ragbralbur while Option 2 is pursued. My forces, along with the remainder of the Ragbralburan Army, should be enough to hold the enemy at bay while the rest of you retake Ignorant Frechman and march to our support.

Situation update: Intelligence reports friendly BattleMech activity in the ruins of -Zero One-. Apparently enough members of the mechanized infantry were left behind to start a surprisingly effective guerrilla resistance. This has forced the enemy to divert resources westward from the siege of Ragbralbur. Also, the Merfolk (both Oceanic and Rootw@ter) have agreed to join Piñata (which marks the first time since we settled their territory that the Merfolk have fully allied themselves with us). They are going to move northwest up the Rootw@ter River and launch a diversionary assault on the enemy forces attempting to hold Pie-Like Desserts. This will free up even more Conclave forces to come to the aid of Ragbralbur. Piñata is still waiting for Stalin's decision whether he wants to assist Elfie in the north or reclaim his territory in the south -- Olwe's forces are under Stalin's command, so it's all up to him how they're deployed.

could someone explain how one would go about joining this shindig? if its just open, then... a clan of wizards from the mouth of the Rootw@ter Rvr. known as Terracians suddenly arrive in The Conclave. their leader, an oddly, yet surprisingly casually dressed man named Kemykal, approaches Piñata and introduces himself and his followers as chemical warfare specialists for hire. "The price is modest, used only for my people's livelihood, research materials, and mind-expanding drugs (they help keep a strong level of creativity and thus make us extremely powerful investments). Honor is a top priority in this clan so, unlike other mercenaries, our loyalties can only be bought once at any given time. i leave you with this offer. if you refuse, i ask only that you let us stay for three nights while we replenish our resources. oh, do you happen to have any casinos? we are excellent gamblers ."

Oh...if we got to do it THAT way...
A group of shadows approaches from the North East. The leader, approaches pinata dancing to Richard Simmons music. "I am DarkAngel, and DarkAngel is I"
"I come here with my group of turtle warriors from the land of Mexico! We pledge our loyalty to the clave! For auir! .... THE CLAVE!"

DA and Kemykal... let me know if you have a preference as to which battle group your forces will be added to. Here's the current configuration (a "*" reflects forces that are currently separated from each other to some degree but are going to hook up later -- the "**" under Battle Group 7 means that this particular battle group exists, but is not part of the campaign yet): Battle group 1 (Leader: High General Stalin) Nuclear penguins (reduced by 50%) Gatling polar bears (reduced by 50%) Ashern Commandos Ewok Archers Smiley Brigade Assignment: Reclaim Ignorant Frenchman from the enemy Battle group 2 (Leaders: Omeguz, Redorblue01) Northern Jedi Knights (reduced by 90%) Mechanized (as in Mechwarriors) infantry (reduced by 50%) Garrison unit from the capital Kemykal's R&D Team Assignment: Harass the enemy from the south and west, forcing changes of formation among enemy forces at Ragbralbur and Ignorant Frenchman Battle group 3 (Leaders: Jacen Solo, Scythe, although other people might have to play them : Southern Jedi Knights Damithor Cavalry and Infantry units Garrison unit from the Duchy of Atreides Assignment: Move into Ignorant Frenchman from the south after Stalin's forces are already inserted from the east Battle group 4* (Leaders: Elfie, Static Burn) Airship BasurakeElvish Archers of Ragbralbur Resistance unit from -Zero One- HG Pirates Assignment: Defense of Ragbralbur Battle group 5* (Leaders: Piñata, SuperbassX84, Dark Angel) Armies of the Pantless Cult (out of uniform, of course) Yellow Aces Olwe Flying Cavalry (actually the Olwe National Quidditch Team, but they all have military training) Dark Angel's forces Assignment: Move north with all due haste, and once there assist in the defense of Ragbralbur Battle group 6 (Leaders: King Triton, High Admiral Cirdan) Rootw@ter and Oceanic Merfolk Naval fleet from Olwe Assignment: Harass enemy forces occupying Pie-Like Desserts, inflicting as much damage as possible (the territory's already a loss) Battle Group 7** (Leaders: Devo2, Stemp, Secole from ATF) Cavalry of Nuncio (best cavalry unit in the Conclave -- think Riders of Rohan, only better equipped) Secole's garrison unit Evil Monkey Hippies

Now, as to DA... okay, Ragbralbur probably needs the most help, so I'm going to put your forces with Bass's.

Thank you, and sorry for being so hard on you. To keep this from being a one-liner, I'm going to post a list of casualties, which will be continually updated (with input from people who want direct control over what kind of casualties their forces take) every time I post. Right now it goes like this: Pie-Like Desserts: 800,000 military casualties 20 million civilian casualties $90 billion in building damages and equipment loss Ruler missing in action and presumed dead Second-in-command confirmed dead Zugema: 300,000 military casualties (but 90% losses among Jedi) 1.5 million civilian casualties $17 billion in building damages and equipment loss Ruler confirmed alive -Zero One- 350,000 military casualties 3.5 million civilian casualties $40 billion in building damages and equipment loss (mostly equipment loss -- sacrificing BattleMechs is damn costly) Ruler confirmed alive Second-in-command missing in action but believed to be leading the guerrilla resistance Ignorant Frenchman 200,000 military casualties 850,000 civilian casualties $20 billion in building damages and equipment loss Ruler confirmed alive Second-in-command confirmed alive but wounded in action Ragbralbur1500 military casualties 4100 civilian casualties $8 million in building damages and equipment loss Ruler confirmed alive (by Viperdude) Static DMC129 military casualties $61,000 in equipment loss Ruler confirmed alive Second-in-command confirmed alive

Battle Group 2 sounds ideal for my forces. we have been working on a Nerve Gas that turns people into 5-legged salamanders (small ones). we could equip the Mechwarriors with these. we will own the day.

CAN YOU!? so we are just distracting the them? ok. just as well, the Salagasder is still in its experimental stages and hasnt been approved yet. (damn you, FDA). do we have anyone to infiltrate the enemy? we could slip some LSD in their food supply. that will distract the them plenty.

She could infiltrate. I mean, c'mon, it's an army, she's a female. It wouldn't exactly be a hard thing to get her into the encampments.

So we are just distracting them? ok. Just as well, the Salagasder is still in its experimental stages and hasnt been approved yet. That is just as well -- I have a feeling, seeing as how we don't know the full extent of what Aratar acquired when we flushed him down the toilet (although Intelligence has confirmed there are Golgotha in the enemy force), that we would not only lose any war that involved chemical or biological weapons, but the entire Conclave would probably be obliterated. Oh, and before anyone asks, a Golgotha is a sh!t demon (watch "Dogma"). Well Devo, right now your forces are still taking the long detour around the mountains that block the West Conclave off from the North and East. This will eventually (let's say next time you log in) put your forces alongside those of Battle Group 3 (Jacen Solo). At that time, you can take integrate your forces with theirs (taking command of the entire combined group since you outrank everyone else there) or choose your own assignment (much like Bass did -- the only reason I added him to my group was that the assignment he chose paralelled mine -- well, that and I had twenty people total before him and DA joined me ). Of course, now I have eight people because I've sent the Yellow Aces directly to the aid of Airship Basurake, so the new additions are even more welcome. -=Points at Kitten and her Cats=- She could infiltrate. I mean, c'mon, it's an army, she's a female. It wouldn't exactly be a hard thing to get her into the encampments. That's a very good point. We should implement that plan, if Kitten's up for it. Now, to start the adventure... After Piñata and the Flying Cavalry meet Bass and DA's forces at the rendevous point (with a disbelieving "Is that everybody?" from Bass when he sees there are only eight of them), the entire procession moves north through the outskirts of the capital. They don't encounter any enemy forces until leaving the capital and entering what used to be Zugema, where the enemy has set up an outpost to guard the southern border. The Conclave forces are hidden behind a hill and haven't been seen yet. Piñata decides to wait for the recommendations of Bass and DA before doing anything.

Well I was thinking more along the lines of seducing a high-ranking officer into telling you anything and everything he knows.
If you'd rather do it the ninja-tastic way, though, be my guest.
As far as the attack on the outpost is concerned, we'll wait 'til nightfall, and then I'll send some Badger Assassins out to scout the area and see what kind of resistance the enemy has. We'll make a decision from there.
