Meh, oh well. I really don't wanna play in tournys though where people use erotic explosion in T1. I mean, how n00b can you be?

for those who like challenges type 2 is for them. personally i like all the deck ideas that are available with type 1. BTW if you played my casual play five color deck draco would be at least one of the cards you see me play.

I personally prefer type 2 to all other formats.

I would be a huge limited fan...if there was a place to play that format around here!!! Be it draft or just a sealed game, it sounds amazing!!
I've really been getting into T2 lately...but I could never afford to play it in person.

T2 online is getting pretty boring because everyone is just playing tribal. It gets a little stale. And the people who aren't playing tribal are playing that Green/Black netdeck. I don't know if it has a name, but I can pretty much give the decklist from memory. Garruk Wildspeaker, Bitterblossom, Nameless Inversion, Shriekmaw, Wren's Run Vanquisher, Imperious Perfect, etc. That one gets pretty boring as well.
This may be, of course, because I'm using the default MWS channel to find people to play, so I'm probably just playing the same people over and over without realizing it. >_<

Type 2 is pretty fun and competitive for me. I play T2 and booster drafts a lot. Keeps the game pretty interesting for me.

my biggest gripe with t2 is the fact that sets phase out rendering your decks obsolete, and in turn forcing you to buy new cards. besides that i like the limited format. it creates more interesting games.
i quit for a year and my t2 decks are useless now, while my t1 decks can still compete. but i guess that is the trade off. limited card pool = the need to continually buy cards. if it didn't wizards would go broke.

The problem with T1 is it's the same Forking decks over and over again. Nothing ever changes, aside from a single card or 2 in all the major decks when new sets are released. How often does a new deck make a major impact on the T1 environment? Hulk Flash with Ravinca, but other than that, there isn't much. It's the same thing year after year. With T2, the environment is constantly changing. You can't just go online and copy a decklist to play with, because if those decklists are more than 3 months old then they are useless. You actually have to understand the environment and build your own decks. And the way it is constantly changing is what makes it interesting. You never know what type of deck you'll be playing in 2 months, and you'll never be able to guess what you'll be up against. T1 gets stagnant and boring very quickly whenever I try to get into it. T2 requires alot of time to get a grasp on the play environment, but after you get into it, it's easy to keep up with and quickly becomes the most exciting format. Each new set completely changes everything...T1 though, it just stays the same. *shrug* Extended is a little better though, new sets sort of have an impact. I've personally fallen in love with the "Make your own T2" format. It's a combination of T1 and T2 sort of. Basically, you deck can only consist of 2 blocks, like in T2, but they can be any block you like. You get the constantly changing environment of T2 with the large card pool of T1, so it's great. I can understand the money factor though, that's why I play T2 on MWS. You get all the great stuff of T2 without the money aspect.

to answer this question for right now, t2 is pretty boring at the moment. the most popular decks are five color control with reflecting pool, vivid lands, and cryptic command or playing decks like fairies. those 2 decks alone make up a very broad spectrum of the field.

Well they are, but white/black tokens or green/white tokens are far better. Windbrisk Heights and Spectral Procession is arguably the strongest combo in type 2 right now.

Tokens are still doing good? When I was playing in Time Spiral/Lorwyn T2 they were doing great because of those cards, in addition to Muraganda Petroglyphs. I figured with Time Spiral rotated out tokens would weaken a bit.

Ajani Goldmane and Glorious Anthem keep them strong. Plus cards like Tidehollow Sculler and Cloudgoat Ranger. Its a tough deck to beat.
