What I don't like about T1 is that you have to be forking rich to be succesful.

true, but in T2, you need to continually buy the new sets. I hat ethat, its much worse than T1 buying, IMHO

Yeah, thats one problem. I spent a ton of money on Onslaught and Legions, and soon, I won't be able to use those cards. Is there a format where it includes some older cards, too? Like 4 Blocks, instead of 2?

That would be Extended format. Right now, I think everything from the Urza block on is legal.

Thanks pinata. What's the difference between T1.x (extended) and T1.5?

I'm not entirely sure. I've never played in a Type 1.5 -- I saw once in the GDF on EM somebody (I think it was Immakiku, but I'm not sure) explained it, but alas, my pornographic memory fails me as to what was said.

T1.5 bans all cards that are restricted in T1.

RoB, you have to stop. Otherwise I may start calling you Rampaging RoB, and you wouldn't like that, because you'd be...rampaging.

Yeah, and everyone knows rampaging is Paul's thing.

Whatever happened to Paul? I haven't seen him post in ages, and that's not just because I haven't been here in ages.

I don't know, but isn't this something you should be asking in the General Board?

It was in response to your comment about rampaging Paul, and the General Board is getting really cluttered so I don't want to add to the mess.

You mean the comment I made in February? If you're not going to respond to something in a timely manner, why bother?

Getting back to the point of this thread, T 1.5 is the same as T1 except that all restricted cards (all one-ofs) can't be used. That list includes, but is not limited to: P9 Sol Ring Strip Mine Burning Wish Gush Lotus Petal etc.
Extended is the format that allows the 6 most recent full blocks and the latest Edition.
