Maximo: Ghosts to Glory Meh, i don't feel like doing the whole organization crap... Anywho, the game is a very cool game...except for the whole difficulty part. This was the first game i ever got on my PS2, and loved it. It's a cartoonish action game where you play as Maximo, obviously, who actually dies in the beginning, and is brought back to life by the Grim Reaper. This is when it gets real hard...yea, right at the beginning. You have your set number of lives, but once you lose them, you have to use a death coin to continue, and once your out of death coins...it's game over for you...literally. Yea, you have to start the WHOLE game over if you run out of deathcoins, and these coins aren't a piece of cake to find, they are very rare. There is also no way of leveling up, so the farther you get and the stronger the enemies get, the more frustatingly hard the game is. So...yea, extremely hard game. Yet at the same time EXTREMELY fun and enjoyable. I still havn't beat it yet though, i've had it for a long time too...meh. There is a 2nd one coming out soon, named Maximo Vs. The Army of Zin. This one is suppose to be alot easier...YAY! Overall, i give it a 6/10...making it a little bit easier and it would have easily scored a 10 with me.

RED FACTION 2 7.6/10 For PC Genre: First Person Shooter The Sequel to the extremely successful RED FACTION! Overall a very good game, with a few flaws. Futuristic FPS with lots of spacy weapons all the way to 'normal' machine gun. You can play it single player mode, or go MP in a Quake3: Arena/UT2k3 style. Dare I say being better than both? I'm a pretty hard grader :- Presentation:7/10 The story from the first game is not continued exactly, though the plot is similar. Not alot of care for story detail. Good story none-the-less, and good MP fun. Graphics: 6/10 Overall, good graphics! smooth textures, and great explosions! Sound:7/10 AMAZING! Music playing is ideal for a FPS. Sounded something like SoaD, but it wasn't them. Explosion/Shot sounds are realisic and cool. Gameplay:8/10 Very easy controls, lacking nothing. Enjoyable Single Player mode with a good, motivating story. Good plot and well laid out characters. Lasting Appeal: 6/10 Single player mode is good. Has Easy, Medium, and Hard setting. Also has MP mode in Q3:Arena style.

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy PS2
Ok...so it's your typical "your the average person off to beat the big evil guy before he tries to take over the world" kind of thing, with alot of strange twists. There's not much of a storyline or character depth. All you really know is that you and your little furry-woodland-animal-friend are off to save the world from a guy who plans on using this 'Dark Eco' to 'change' the world. Other than the storyline, the game is pretty decent...for a platformer. It does come up a bit short on the length though. Any gamer will most likely finish this in a day or 2. The gameplay is pretty good, your enemies aren't too annoying and this game isn't too frustrating. It is pretty enjoyable for the short amount of time that you get to play it, and with it's low price of arround 15-20 bucks, it's well worth your money if your in to platformers.
I give Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy a 7 out of 10

Onimusha 3: Demon Siege Capcom Playstation 2
Prologue: Well, I was a fan of Onimusha 1, it combined samurai sword-swinging with Resident Evil. Onimusha 2, well, I skipped because it didn't seem as appealing to me. And now we come to part 3 of the series. After you get past the abso-freaking-lutely impressive intro before we even start the game, we begin with our main man Samanoske and an army about to assult the fortress of the demon king Nobunaga. So you have to fight a fair amount of demons to get to him; well, all the weapons you had in the very first game are still yours and at full power, so it's easy enough. When you reach Nobunaga, your fight is interupted by Samanoske being sucked into a black portal. Cut to 2004 Paris France, a cop named Jaques (typical french name there) is called in to an emergency situation. Demons have invaded this era!! Duah!? Time Travel? Demons? Samurais? Magic? Me likey so far. Anyway, Samanoske gets warped into 2004 France, however, all of his magic and weapons are gone. Eventually he meets up with Jaques, and Jaques gets sucked into a portal into Samanoske's era. Interesting. Jaques meets with an Oni who gants him power to defeat the demons (like they did to Samanoske) by giving him a neato whip, magic gauntlet, and this annoying little fairy (called Tengu) named Akko. With the help of Akko, Jaques and Samanoske work together to fight through the year they're stuck in. Later on, it gets much more complicated as you actually have to send Akko back and forth in time and use the characters to get key items for the other. It's like the movie Frequency, only toss in some survival horror into it.
Presentation: 9/10 Box art looks good, shows the to main characters standing next to one another. Instructions are good. The idea of time travel in this kind of game seems cheesey almost, but it actually works, in my opinion. Menus are pretty much like Resident Evil, only your life is a much more accurate life bar. Some of the scenes in the game are rather corny though. =p
Graphics: N/A Pretty darn amazing, one of the PS2's best. Very smooth, rich, and the CG is wonderful.
Sound: 9.5/10 Wow...I must say, this game was beautifully orchestrated. The music really sets the mood in this game, and it's well done. Sound effects are nice. Voice acting is good. But I must say the music really rates the sound high.
Gameplay: 9/10 The controls, like most RE games, can be a bit tricky to get used to. Throughout the game you find new weapons, and you must defeat demons to collect the souls from them and level up the weapons you find as well as your armor and magic gaunlet (just like in the first one, and possibly the second one). With BOTH characters, because they find different things. And if you neglect one character, you won't really get through the game too easily. Fighting in the game can get boring and difficult at times, but it's pretty good.
Lasting Appeal: 9/10 Well, I didn't get through the game, because I kept dying at this one boss. The game is rather long, so you're getting your money's worth in time. There are diffenent secrets and modes to be unlocked if you do well in the game, so you can try for that. But it's pretty much the same replay value as any RE.
OVERALL SCORE: 9/10 I was quite impressed. Being a RE fan, it was a good experience, even if I kept dying at this one boss...=p

Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Game of the Year Edition
X-Box
Presentation 8.9/10 - The plethora of objetives, quests, and items make this game very difficult in terms of organization. While its menus and button controls are solid, there is no Item Sort function, and it is not possible to group 2 of the same things into the same bundle. There are, however, tabs dividing you items into Weapons, Apparel, Magic, Misc, and All. Its open-ended gaming gets confusing at times, but there is never, ever, ever a time when you have nothing to do.
Graphics 8.5/10 - For a completely open-ended RPG, Morrowind's bugs are often unnoticable, unless they crash your X-box. Sometimes Collision detection and jumping are difficult because of the way some textures and environments are rendered. The way the character's walk, seems very stiff, but overall the landscape is diverse, cities vary greatly from each other. Ancient Ruins, shrines and temples litter the game and are rendered perfectly. The weather effects are also eually awesome...buggy, but awesome.
Sound 9.5/10 - The beautiful score makes me cry like a little girl everytime I hear it, and the voiceovers for the characters and the random voice clips are excellently done. The soundtrack adds greatly to the atmosphere, and changes depending on the weather and the current conditions and place.
Gameplay 9.6/10 - WOW! There is soo much to do, there never is a dull moment, the controls are flawless and mmic realistically your character's ability. Switiching between magic and blade is perfect. The only gripe I have is, if your not paying attention, its easy to get lost (there's a map that comes with the game...0.o), walking those distances gets annoying (although other methods of travel are available), and it is very possible to forget yourself in the main quest and the journal function isn't too helpful.
Lasting Appeal - 9.9/10 There are 3 guilds and 3 houses to join and each has its own 15 or so quests. There are numerous NPC's, caves to explore, people to kill, etc. etc. which will keep you hooked for ever. The main quest is engrossing, and it is possible to really do anything you want to. It is even possible to kill everyone in Morrowind. With the addition of Tribunal and Bloodmoon, add about 50 hours of gameplay to the already whopping 150+ hours. (It is possible to beat it in 150 hrs, but doing all the sidequests, your looking upwards of 500+hours.)
Overall 9.2/10 - For the hardcore gamer mostly, with many parts enjoyed by the casual player.

Rune: Viking Warlord PS2 Rating: 4/10 One of the worst games i've ever played. The sounds are pretty cheesy in some points (yet really good in others), the voice acting is just...bleh. The level detail is gritty and plain. The AI is silly, and the enemies are easily defeated, including the boss'. The gameplay is pretty bad, it requires some really sketchy jumping that just looks and feels silly, enemies are dealt with with 1 swing of your weapon, and the game overall isn't really fun to play. The graphics are...odd. You can hit an enemy with a sword and they just kinda...explode. But they explode into 5 or 6 big chunks and its just...stupid. The lasting appeal? If you do play it, you only play it once. Its not too short...but you'll be wishing it was. I give it a 4 out of 10.

I don't think you comprehend exactly how hard this game is. I own it and enjoyed playing it until I got my hat handed to me. Then I didn't ever want to play it anymore because I knew I couldn't get anywhere. So yes, 4 points off because it's too hard is perfectly acceptable. It really ruins the whole experience.

I agree completey, the game is fantastic until the difficulty level pwns you. I also quit the game because i was stuck...and that rarely happens. I got to the underworld, and i think i got through 1 of the levels there, but then i had no death coins and like...1 life, so i was forked and couldn't really do anything. Devo: Have you tried Army of Zin? That game is pretty good, although kinda short Good for renting though. I've thought about trying to perfecti it (100% on each level), but doing that is just about as hard as finishing the first.

Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising - 8.4/10 Platform: Pc
The mystery to why I haven't been posting as much on the clave lately, revealed. OooOoOoOOOooo.
Yea, kickass game. Buy it or you wont be able to play past the few training missions. Required unique cdkey per account to play online. Battles are massive, up to 150 players. Gameplay is very much like battlefield series, but with a much heavier emphasis on teamwork.
Overall, great game that is exceptionally fun to play when you're in a clan and can coordinate attacks over teamspeak.
Viewtiful Joe - 8.0/10 Platform: Gamecube
Great game, but lacking in some areas. The combat system was very intuitive and responsive. The story was exactly what it was set out to be; full of clichès and stereotypes found in outdated movies. The overall atmosphere was very good, but the gameplay was too repetitive after a short time, and caused a major downfall in replayability.
Fun game at first, but loses its intrigue after a few levels.

Pikmin for GC
It's like starcraft trippin on acid, high on crack, and mutilated by a mad botanist at the same time. You cultivate and pluck bipodal plant-based lifeforms and order them to do your bidding. Despite it's childish appearance, this game is not for the mediocre gamer. You have 30 days that last about 30 minutes each in real time to collect the parts of your crashed rocket before your personal life-support device runs out of whatever it is that you breathe. You command up to 100 at a time, and multitasking is essential, as well as careful and precise action against the pikmin-eating animals that dot the landscape. If you want a challenge, play it.
Graphics-9 / 10 Pretty realistic and very detailed landscapes. The characters and animals are sometimes simple looking, but shadows are done well too. Not much water, but what's there meets par.
Gameplay-8/10 Almost always action-y, even stressful at times due to the tight time limit. I would've scored this a little higher, but some people find this game just plain impossible, so they didn't make the gameplay easy enough for everyone. A difficulty setting would have been appropriate.
Storyline 7/10 A fitting story, but lacking in complexity. not that it's missed once you start playing...
Music 7/10 Interesting stuff, not Final Fantasy quality, but once again, fitting for the game.
Overall 8/10 Fun, challenging, and a little whacked. Enough said. I'd suggest it.

Final Fantasy IX- PSOne Presentation 9/10 - Graphics 9/10 - Not so much for the gameplay, but for the CG sequences-Some of the best I've seen for PSOne. Truly beautiful cities, airships, battles, etc. Stunning. Sound 8.5/10 - Not the best by far, but its a Final Fantasy, and that comes with a certain level of quality. Gameplay 9/10 - Lots of sidequests, but only a few are necessary, thus lots of choices. Your party is pretty much up to you, though your main character cannot be removed, and certain times you must have certain members. Good battle system, and great story and synergy. Lasting Appeal - 10/10 - Lots of replay value, game is 70 hours minimum, and thats if you are insanely good and don't do any sidequests or level at all. Normally takes over a hundred hours, and there are enough choices that replay can lead to a somewhat different experience. Graphics and story harken back to the FF's of old. Overall 9/10 - Overall one of the best games I've ever played, on any system. Between the story, graphics, and loveable characters, you'll find it hard to put down. Or else you're a loser.

I as well find IX to be one of my favorites. The general consensus among FF fans is that it's one of the worst, though I think X-2 takes that cake now. Either way, I could care less what they say about IX, I loved it. In VII and VIII, characters weren't all that different from each other, and that bothered me. IX returns to the job system.
BTW, did you beat Ozma? Easily the hardest boss in any game I've ever played.

OK. Time for another review!
F-Zero GX Platform: GC exclusive, I believe. Overall a really cool futuristic racing game thats similar to the previous games in the series in some ways, but totally new in others. Aside from the usual championship cups, theres a 2-4 player competition mode and a pretty cool but nearly impossibly difficult story mode with interesting challenges and sweet cutscenes.
Controls - 7/10 They're simple enough, but the pace of the action is so great that they could seem too responsive to some people and not responsive enough to others. It took me a while to get the hang of anyway...
Graphics - 9/10 Futuristic, detailed, realistic, and smooth despite the fact that it all flashes by at pretty high rate.
Music - 7/10 Mostly heavy rock combined with techno. Its really cool until you've been playing for more than an hour, after which it may or may not begin to grate on you a bit.
Learning Curve/Playability- 5/10 For almost anyone, this game is simply impossible at first. The cars are so fast and the turns come up so quickly that it really takes practice to get the hang of it and not blow yourself up by running into walls and such. The first mission of story mode is cake for a new player, but the second is insane, and it gets harder from there.
Characters - 9/10 This isnt usually a category that's even considered in racing games, but F-Zero GX is an exception. the characters, as discovered in story mode, have elaborate personalities, motives, and backgrounds which is a really unique thing in the racing genre.
Overall - 8/10 Though it's tough at first, it really gets fun once you get the hang of the controls, and the multiplayer = good times as well. This, combined with the graphics, characters, and cool music makes for a good gaming experience. Rent it at least, if you're bored enuff. ;D

I also beat him. And after quite a few tries, I got steiner's ultimate weapon. (Kill Hades in under 12 hours) I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you're a perfectionist. I am one, for final fantasy anyway. Anyway..Game Review Resident Evil 4 9.5/10 GC Graphics 10/10 There's not much to say except the killing action is amazing. Gameplay 9/10 I was impressed with the gameplay, although after playing the other REs, this one had too much killing and not enough puzzles. Killing is good and all but I think they should have stuck with the trend. Storyline 9/10 Girl gets kidnapped, agent has to save her. I won't reveal more. In the beginning it starts out as a pretty typical story, but it later evolves into a much bigger plot. Music 10/10 There was some pretty creepy music, even if there wasn't very much. Most of the sounds you hear are zombie guys yelling in spanish. (Game takes place in spain) And incase you're wondering, they're not technically "zombies", they've been infected with a virus that makes them much stronger and not feel pain. They can think too I'd highly recommend this game.

Resident Evil 4 Platform: PS2
9/10
This game is absolutely amazing. It features some of the coolest boss battles i've ever played. Its not like most games where you come to a boss and think "Great, another big guy i have to fight" but rather "Holy sh*t that thing is SWEET!!" and then it kills you. The enemies aren't stupid, like in other games. For example, once i was running from a "zombie" and i ran up onto the 2nd floor of a small house. In normal games the zombie would probably get stuck on a wall outside, or just sit there. Instead it went over to a fire, set a something on fire, and threw it through the window at me, and set me on fire...0.0. The game is very tough and the action very rarely stops. You can't just run though the game shooting everywhere, you always have to conserve ammo as there is very little. And although the game is difficult, it is still very addicting and once you get playing you don't want to stop. The only problem was after i finished it i had no desire to play through it again on a harder difficulty. It was so tough that even though i enjoyed it, playing through it again would have seemed like work instead of fun. On the brighter side, after you finish it you unlock alot of alternative games, like an arcade style shooter where you start out in a small space with a time limit and see how many points you can rack up, and a seperate game altogether where you play with a different person with a different perspective of all the events, although i havn't played through that yet (for reasons stated above, it seemed like work) The game is still amazing, one of the best games i've every played.
I wish there would have been a way to fight the bosses again without having to play the game over again, because they were sweet.
God of War Platform: PS2
9.5/10
I cannot get over this game. I have never played a game that was addicting as this. The gameplay is fun, the cutscenes are 'pretty' and the general feel of the game is intense. While playing it you really feel what Kratos, the main character feels. The story is touching and when peices are revealed, you really feel the same anger that the main character feels. So when you fianlly reach that final boss, unlike other games, you really just want to kick his ass. The problems in this one? Sometimes it just feels likes you mashing buttons(although rarely) and the game is somewhat short. (or maybe its too good and seems like it ends too fast) I strongy advise anyone with a PS2 to go buy this. It is truly the best game i have EVER played.
