Hey everyone What kind of decks do you tend to make? Do you like to buy cards off eBay and make decks? Or is Peasant Magic your kind of game?

I've just gotten into Highlander, a variant which allows you to create decks with no more than one of any card (besides basic lands). Pretty fun because every time you draw a card, unless it's a land, it's going to be a different card.

I like Highlander too, but I think my favorite kind of deck is theme decks.

I'm personally a control player at heart....My first deck I ever made was a creature control deck. It used stuff like Stronghold Assassin, Notorious Assassin, Bounty Hunter, and Silent Assassin to control the opponent's creatures. Now, I'm definetly into MBC, MWC, WBC, Ponza, Psychatog. Aggro decks just bore me too much for some reason...I'm just not into attacking all day....

I like all T2 except gobbo. For some reason I hate everything that has to do with red. My main decks are UB megrim decks. I can't afford things like P9 and since the store I go to has really competative decks I mostly just play T2 though I do have a great T1 deck that does really well even against decks with P9.

I ussually make black discard decks, they are fun and can be fast. I also ussually throw in a creature type, like thrulls.

I love Stompy decks... I usually try to do a green fast mana deck that has some sort of gimmick for getting out big creatures fast. It works with varying degrees of success depending on what's T2 legal at the time. I think the best it ever was happened when tempest came out. It was all mana elves and 4 Verdant Forces, 4 Natural Orders, and 4 Overruns, with a City of Solitude or two SB against blue. It never lost.

My decks usually are:
Hobo. Made mostly from commons with few uncommons and rares. I rarely trade for cards for a specific deck.
Focused. I usually pick a theme and stick to it, which usually makes the decks either really good or really bad.
Aggressive. I generally like to deal large or steady amounts of hard-to-prevent damage. This is usually accomplished through burn spells and creatures with evasion.
Unprepared. My decks usually contain little or no enchantment or artifact destruction.
And here's how my style of deckbuilding has worked with different color combinations:
UR - Never works UG - Sometimes works UW - Usually works UB - Never works BR - Always works BG - Never works BW - Always works RW - Never works RG - Usually works GW - Sometimes works

Ohh, there is so many to choose from I mainily am a control player.
I like W/B Control with life manipulation. U/W counter control, backed by life gain.
I use green & white alot of the time as support colors and use most of the control that comes from Black or Blue.
Basically anything in a combination of B/U/G/W works for me. In T1 I tend to avoid red as it becomes somewhat boring. But I do sometimes through weird welder decks together or one of my favorite R/B/A decks of all time. "Krark's Thumb + Game of Chaos".
I do not really play competevily but I do work on aquring all the T1 goodies for my decks. 3 moxes to go for me. I really hate using proxies.
Current favorite strategy: Tendrils of Agony Favored deck types: Keeper, Rector Trix & Rogue.
