*Piñata looks more closely at the buildings, a shock of recognition flooding through him as he notices the familiarity of the architecture. This is his home plane. Suddenly, a red energy bolt hits Uurion, who is standing next to Piñata, knocking him to the ground. He is obviously still breathing, but doesn't look like he'll be getting back up anytime soon. As the others all draw weapons, prepare spells or run for cover, Piñata sees the tips of five wands pointed at him.*
Arnostale: Great. Now what? Piñata: They're Aurors -- dark wizard hunters. They're here for me. Arnostale: Dark wizard? I thought you were a green mage. Piñata: I am, but I'm also wanted for murder on this plane. Auror #1: Drop your weapons. If you come with us peacefully, things will go a lot easier for you. Piñata: They have nothing to do with this. Let them go. Auror #1: We're not about to let your accomplices escape. Piñata (drawing his sword): Let them go, and I go with you peacefully. Continue to harass innocent bystanders, and die. The choice is yours.
(OOC: The following depiction of battle is very spare-no-detail, David Eddings style writing. I thought a warning was appropriate so that those who can't handle graphic violence don't hurl all over their keyboards. If it's too much for this site, let me know and I'll change it.)
*Five beams of red light intersect at Piñata's previous location -- he's already dropped to the ground, rolled back up onto one knee in front of the first Auror, and brought his sword up. The blade hits the man in the groin, and Piñata pulls it upward until it cleaves the top of his skull. The two halves of his body fall in opposite directions. The sword doesn't stop for a moment -- it removes the tip of one wand (making the weapon useless), and takes off the arm holding another wand at the elbow. That Auror looks down at the bloody stump of his arm in shock. Piñata shoves them both aside to be finished off later, and buries his blade in the fourth Auror's skull with such force that it passes through the other side, taking off the top of his head and exposing his brain. Before that body hits the ground, Piñata's already run the rearguard through with his blade. He turns around to dispatch the two he didn't kill earlier, but finds the work already done for him -- the one with the severed arm has Scythe's throwing knife sticking out of his forehead, and Ape is crouching over the body of the other, blood dribbling from his mouth where he used his teeth to rip out the man's throat. Farther away, Uurion is struggling to his feet, the effects of the Stunning Spell finally wearing off. Scythe turns to Piñata.*
Scythe: You sure know how to handle a sword. Piñata: They don't give out heron-mark blades to anybody who asks for them. Scythe: Heron-mark? Really? Can I see it?
*Piñata deftly flips the sword, so that the blade is resting in the palm of his hand and the hilt is extended toward Scythe. The bronze heron is clearly visible on the hilt.*
Scythe: Wow. I haven't seen one of these in over a century. I didn't know there were any Blademasters left. Piñata: You're not going to come across many, but there are others besides me out there. Scythe: So, who'd you kill? Piñata: You're going to have to be a lot more specific. Scythe: Sorry. I meant, whose murder are you wanted for? Piñata: My father.

(ooc: a few Dark Tower/Gunslinger references in there)
Scythe is momentarily thrown off-stride by Pinata's admission. His father... After a moment, he speaks up. "If we ever get a chance to palaver, I would hear your tale." Scythe turns to the rest of the group. "All of your tales, and you can hear mine as well. It may be important that we all gain some understanding of each-others' pasts." "Palaver? Whassat?" Someone says. "Oh, sorry. Palaver is a word taken from the High Speech of Gilead that means to discuss stuff as a group." Pinata replies, "Hmm, that sounds like a good idea, but now is not the time...there is something that we are meant to do here, and Our Exalted Lordship decided to take a nap in the middle of his explanation..." "I suggest we start looking." Arnostale adds. Scythe nods his agreement. "If what the seeress and Morb say are true, then ka dictates that we have no choice but to see this through." "Ka?" Bass asks. Scythe: "...I lapse into the High Speech more and more often these days. It means fate, basically... So, shall we get moving?"
(ooc again: I'm assuming that because this adventure isn't a 'clave adventure, the official stats dont apply here. Do they? It actually would seem that this takes place before the 'clave forms and/or in a different dimension where we don't know each other yet.)

(OOC: Hope not. I'm gonna speed up the plot here, at least my part of it anyways.)
DarkAngel witnesses the swordmanship of his companion Pinata with a pained look on his face. The more he watches this energetic man, the more he is reminded of the death of his friend millenia ago. He turns his back to the group as the remaining Auror drops dead to the ground. A single tear falls down to his cheek. The loss of his friend was still to painful for him to accept, even after all of this time. After regaining his composure, DarkAngel turns to address the group, when suddenly, the groud directly below him splits apart suddenly. He only has time to grab the edge of the newly-formed chasm with one hand. The rest of the group, hearing the sudden rumbling, turn around and let out a yell of surprise at the sight of DarkAngel barely hanging on. Pinata and Bass rush over to help DarkAngel, but something within the chasm pulls him down before they can get to him. The chasm seals itself shut as soon as he disappears. The last thing DarkAngel hears before going under, is Pinata shouting his name...
DarkAngel awakens, slumped over on the ground. He groans as he tries to rise to his feet, his head and body are aching horribly. He opens his eyes, but only darkness greets him as he looks around. Muttering a quick spell under his breath, DarkAngel creates a small fire in his outstreatched hand, illuminating the cavern where he fell to. The cavern is massive, its ceiling stretching for as far as his eyes could see. Various gems in the walls of the cavern glitter with the light of his fire. He could just barely make out an exit against the far wall of the cavern, and decides to make for it. As he reaches the doorway, he notices that it is not natural. The edges have been cut perfectly. Two carving of human skulls with small horns protruding from their heads adorn each of the top two corners. Surpressing a shudder, DarkAngel plunges into the dark tunnel that lays beyond.
After walking for what seems for hours, DarkAngel finally sees a light ahead of him. He begins to run towards that light, as if the armies of hell were behind him. He plunges out of the cave, into a well-lit cavern. Torches line the walls, illuminating everything inside. There was a massive set of stairs, leading up towards a throne carved out of solid granite. On the throne sat a massive humanoid figure, but with grossly distorded proportions. His face was long and pointed, with large horns protruding from his head. On his head, instead of hair, burned a fire so hot that it melted anything that went near it. He wore no armour, but had an exoskeleton protecting his midsection, and a black cape over his shoulders. His body was covered in massive muscles. However, what DarkAngel noticed most about this horrific figure was its eyes...When he looked into them, he could hear millions of screams of agony inside his head. They were so filled with malice and hatred, that DarkAngel could not hold his gaze.
"Hello Geroth, I've been expecting you." The demon exclaims in a booming voice, which sends shiver's up DarkAngel's spine.
"This must be the Chaos Lord the Seeress spoke of earlier," DarkAngel thinks to himself. DarkAngel had never felt fear in his life, until this moment. The site of his opponent filled him with such a deep sense of dread, that he felt sick to his stomach.
"Geroth, why the silence?" The Chaos Lord asks, "It doesn't matter anyways. We both know why you're here. However, I'm not going to waste my energy on you, unless you prove yourself worthy by defeating some of my minions."
On command, three figures emerge from behind the throne, and stand facing DarkAngel. Each figure is also massive, and have the same eyes as their master. DarkAngel hardens himself. "Are you such a coward that you must send your servants to defeat me, while you sit back in safety? It is of no matter however, I will defeat your minions, and then you. You made the mistake of underestimating me, and I plan on making you pay for this mistake." DarkAngel shouts. To reinforce his statement, he draws his massive sword, with immediately erupts in a blue flame, and holds it out infront of him in challenge to his opponents.

(OOC: Yes, I think that Morb planned for this to take place pre-Conclave -- that's why I gave my character a not-quite-normal sword instead of the ubiquitous lightsaber. Oh, and I didn't make any Dark Tower references... what were you talking about, Scythe? ) *The remaining members of the party stare in shocked silence at the place where the hole in the ground closed up moments ago, swallowing DA. Piñata is the first to act. He points his wand down at the ground and shouts, " Meteor!" A meteor erupts from the tip of his wand, slamming into the ground and blowing a massive hole in the earth. Everyone is flung back by the force of the meteor's impact. They pick themselves up off the ground to see that there is a hole leading down into the depths of the earth once again.* Bass: That must have required a lot of power. Where did you learn a trick like that? Piñata: The first time I did it, it was a mistake. I mispronounced an easy healing incantation and blew the roof off the school where I was learning magic. Bass: Ouch. They must have really given you hell for that. Piñata: Well, it's not like a Cleaning Charm gets rid of a mess that big. So yeah, they were pretty pissed. Arnostale: So, are we just going to stand here, or are we going to go down there and find DarkAngel? Piñata: We're going to find DarkAngel. Then we're going to find you a personality. *Arnostale snarls at Piñata. He turns away before she sees his grin.*

(OOC: Thanks Pinny, blow a whole in the ground where I could possibly be trapped. Btw, don't interfere here.) The demon atop his massive throne begins making a horrible noise that sounds vaguely like a laugh. "He's still got some spunk in him," the demon laughs, "I like that. I guess there is no more reason for waiting, so let's get this going." The first of The Chaos Lord's minions decend down the stairs, then stops approximately 30 yards away from DarkAngel. The figure ahead of him is approximately 7 feet tall, with muscles rippling from his body. However, unlike The Chaos Lord, this minion looks like he used to be human. He wears a spiked helmet which covers his entire face, except for the eyes. He is wearing a heavy breastplate, with the emblem of a burning skull in the center of it. In his right hand, he weilds a massive mace, in his left, a spiked shield. "I am called Liogel. Shall we begin, weakling?" The figure asks, his arrogance evident in his voice. Instead of answering, DarkAngel simply charges at his opponent. The blue flame from his sword illuminates the room in a dull blue light. When DarkAngel reaches Liogel, he takes a massive swipe with his sword at his opponent's midsection. Liogel leaps back with surprising agility, avoiding DarkAngel's attack. Liogel swings his mace at DarkAngel's unprotected head with such force that he clearly wished to end this fight immediately. DarkAngel ducks under the attack, then thrusts his mighty sword at the midsection of his opponent. Liogel only has time to hastily throw his shield in the path of DarkAngel's sword to deflect the attack. As sword meets shield, Liogel's shield shatters under the strength of DarkAngel's attack, sending Liogel stumbling back, clutching his arm. Before he has time to gain his composure again, DarkAngel is already moving. Liogel only has time to throw up his giant mace to block DarkAngel's overhead swing with his sword. Sparks fly as the two mighty weapons meet, and both fighters are knocked back. They both lunge at eachother again, parrying eachother's blows. Then, Liogel makes a small mistake which cost him the fight. He puts too much strength into one of his thrusts, which caused him to lose his balance slightly. DarkAngel dodges the thrust, then with a mighty swing, removes the outstretched arm of his opponent. Then, before Liogel even has a chance to realize what happened, DarkAngel does a backhand swing, and removes the head of Liogel. When the body hits the ground, fierce flames consume his opponent's remains, leaving nothing but ashes remaining. DarkAngel looks up the stairs at his three remaining opponents. With a grim smile on his face, he yells out "Next."

(OOC: DA, I know better than to Fork with your prophecy. I'm just making it where we can reorganize more quickly by getting closer to your location -- and, since I'm assuming the three you're fighting aren't the Chaos Lord's only minions, giving the rest of us something to keep us occupied.) Bass: You do realize where this probably leads, right Piñata? Piñata: Yeah. Why, are you chicken or something? Elfie: I am. So... uh... I'll stay up here and assume lookout duty, okay? Piñata: Fine. Arnostale: Does anyone else feel like we're being watched? Piñata: I do, but I think it's just because you're checking out my ass. Arnostale: You wish. Bass: Seriously, she's right. There's something down here with us.
